Spring Shows All Over the World!
Now that winter is over and done with, it’s time to come out of hibernation and go out into the world. Fortunately for you, many of our One Cell artists are on the road – domestically and abroad.
M. Takara
If you end up stuck at home, listen to M. Takara’s new EP “Cocada”! The vinyl version is now available from Desmonta, so be sure to order your copy today. If you haven’t bought the digital version, shame on you! For the cost of three items on McDonald’s dollar menu, you can own the latest EP from a man that Stylus Magazine has called “an integral part of the São Paulo improv underground”. You sure you want to miss out on that? Download it from One Cell’s website today.
M. Takara just recently played the SXSW Festival in Texas, but more U.S. dates are ahead. His trio, M. Takara 3 be playing the following shows with Brassa Bell:
4/27: Metro Gallery, Baltimore, MD w/ Lo Moda
4/28: Zebulon, N.Y.
4/29: Cake Shop, N.Y. w/ Invisible Circle
4/30: Now That's Class, Cleveland, OH w/Scarcity Of Tanks
4/31: Heaven Gallery, Chicago, IL w/ Bruce Lamont
Rossano Snel
Rossi is busy as usual, and has lots of awesome projects going on now and coming up in the future. He’ll be playing this Saturday, April 3rd at the Cabaret Club in Porto Allegre. April 9th he’ll be playing amongst some other local DJ’s from São Paolo, including female DJ Laka.
Don’t forget that Rossano’s got a blog over at POABEAT, so head over to their website and check it out!
Too far away to see Rossano? Watch this very brief, but very cool fan video of Rossano performing on a terrace in beautiful Porto Allegre earlier this month. Rossi played the gig with fellow DJ’s Silver City from Argentina.
Go West Young Man
Don’t forget that Go West Young Man will be performing in California a few times in the next couple of months. Be sure to catch them at the following dates:
April 12 Air Conditioned Supper Club Venice, CA
April 27 Bordello Los Angeles, CA
May 19 3 of Clubs Hollywood, CA
May 21 The Echo – Club Underground Echo Park, CA
Have you seen GWYM’s “The Covinas” video from last summer? Watch it for the first or fiftieth time, below. The live footage will beckon you to one of their upcoming shows.
It’s not just us, you know – praise for GWYM is all over. Like this mention from The Echo, which states, “Go West Young Man’s self-titled 2009 album, all too deplorably overlooked, is full of sticky melodies and bright imagery, showing off multi-instrumentalist Damin Suarez’s slick pop songwriting chops.”
Burro Morto
Burro Morto has also been touring – watch clips of a recent show in Paraíba, Brazil, in four parts:
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
That’s it for now! We’re sure April will bring more music, more fun, and more good stuff from our artists at One Cell Records.
